For the past 8 years I’ve hosted a pumpkin carving party. It’s one of my favorite events because it combines all the things that I love – creating things, food and friends. Unlike other normal parties, this event has a specific creative purpose – carving pumpkins. It’s so much fun to see the creativity that comes out. It’s like watching people (adults) become kids again.
When I first started this event, it was 100% adults at the party. As years progressed and occasional baby or toddler would be there but it was still about 1-2% of the guests. This year on the other hand I would say it was at least 30% kids! How times have changed. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just interesting to see how the party has evolved as we have grown older. Still very fun and now we get to share it with the little ones. I hope that this will become a fond memory that they can all look back on .. like “Remember those pumpkin carving parties when we were kids? We should continue the tradition as adults!” .. wishful thinking? 😉
Enough rambling by me … Here are some of the pics from this years annual pumpkin carving.
