Lee got all ready for school but realizing that T

Lee got all ready for school but realizing that T was not coming with him (she has school remotely at home), he laid down on the floor, sad because he wanted to keep on playing at home. ⁠

Without saying a word, T walked over and hugged him. ⁠
(my heart melted)⁠
⁠
So much love can be placed into one hug. It's a simple message saying: I love you, and you're going to be okay. ⁠

Have you ever been advised to STOP STRESSING b/c it's bad when trying to have a baby .. and then you STRESS MORE? .. stressing overstressing. Ugh. It's an endless cycle. ⁠

Yawn, do you feel sleepy this morning? ⁠
How much sleep do you get? ⁠

I have to admit, I have probably averaged around 5 hours a night for the last decade. Not good. ⁠
.⁠
Sleep is one of those things where we all "know" it's essential to get enough of. I've heard it time and time again - studies, books, health podcasts .... everyone agrees that sleep is one of the most important things you can do, yet why do we often ignore it? ⁠
.⁠
(Side note: if you have a baby - ignore this post, as I know you have little control over your sleep at the moment. All I can say is that it's temporary!)⁠
. ⁠
I have challenged myself to keep a sleep tracker to see what time I say I'm going to sleep versus what time I actually go to sleep. I then evaluate my week and note what worked and what could be the cause of keeping me up.⁠
.⁠
The biggest culprit? I'm not working on my side businesses - like my online animation school or creating youtube content for @jazzkatat .... I'm embarrassed to say that my latest nights where I climb into bed at 2 am are due to binge-watching a tv series! Anyone else? ⁠
.⁠
The good news, awareness is key, and now I can adjust accordingly. ⁠
.⁠

I feel so refreshed and energized. Having this long weekend to take a break from work has allowed time to relax and think about what elements I want in my life moving forward. Like more to play, like in this selfie I took when Lee and I were having fun doing silly things. ⁠

I'm going to put it in my Future Self goals - to work 3 days a week (okay, maybe 4 ... )⁠
.⁠
You might be reading this and thinking - "Eh, Future Self is just a dream - there is NO WAY YOU CAN GET THERE."⁠
.⁠
That is where I am going to say right now that you are wrong. Yes, I said it! ⁠
.⁠
In fact, the future self is something that you can make happen as soon as today. Sure, not all the elements will be in place today, tomorrow, or months from now - but you will be surprised how many parts of your future self you can start implementing and designing today. More importantly, how you can start taking action on all the elements to move you in that direction IF YOU TAKE ACTION TO DO SO. ⁠

Let me explain my mindset on this - Even if it's the same people, we have dinner with every night (since March!) - let's make it memorable. As impressive as if 20 guests are coming! ⁠

It sucks that we can't be surrounded by family this thanksgiving, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't create and treat ourselves any differently. We should indulge even more, right? ⁠
